Do you ever lose arguments with yourself? For example, how many times do you tap your snooze button before getting out of bed? (I know --you set your alarm to ring early so that you can hit the snooze right)? How often do you put off heading to the gym? How hard is it to turn off the tube and actually get yourself to go to bed! This is an example of small behaviors that can accumulate over time and block us from getting the things we want most. So what? We're human right? Exactly! That's why I'm sharing this simple way to give yourself a gentle nudge forward so you don't get stuck in your same old routines that stop you from launching into the good life. This idea was introduced to my by a woman who was depressed and in financial ruin. One day, she started this simple technique that not only pulled her out of her depression, but actually helped her get back on impressive financial ground. Here's how it works: When you're about to talk yourself out or into something, give yourself a command and start the count down. This not only takes time out of the equation, but also prevents that ego mind of yours from kicking in with a bunch of mindless chatter and putting you in a rat race you can never win. So, just before you hit the snooze button, give yourself a command: Get up in 5, 4 , 3 , 2, 1 Blastoff! Say it aloud and with exuberance! As your headed for the donut instead of the workout, again, say: "Workout clothes in 5, 4 , 3, 2, 1 Blastoff! . ....TV off and up to bed in 5, 4,3,2,1..Blast off~! .you get the picture? Try it and let me know how it goes~! Ready, Set, Blast off to the Good Life!
